The road to god's promise

Dusty Boden 04/26/2020

Just when things look like there is no order…

How things appear in the natural is not how they appear in the spiritual…

God is putting things into order…

We need to look at things from the perceptive of Heaven…

In these uncertain days there are many people hearing the gospel for the first time… because they do not feel worthy enough to step into a church.

God can take anything and work it out for the good.

The enemy is trying to shut down the church….BUT GOD is turning things around… with live streaming capabilities we are reaching more people than we were before.

Anytime there is prosecution there is growth

Psalms 33:10-11 (NLT)  The LORD frustrates the plans of the nations and thwarts all their schemes.

Many times, we find ourselves in situations that would cause us to doubt God… God’s divine path is for us to walk in obedience to His Word.

We are coming into a close of this age….

Our emotions looks at life through our circumstances…. Faith looks at life through His promises.

Don’t look at things at FACE value….

Look at things at FAITH value….

Sometimes the tasks He gives us seems impossible….these are the times when faith has to prevail and carry us.

Isaiah 50:10 (ESV) Who among you fears the LORD and obeys the voice of his servant? Let him who walks in darkness and has no light trust in the name of the LORD and rely on his God.

Rely on God…. As He is your Father

2 Corinthians 5:7  for we walk by faith, not by sight.

Faith over feelings

Faith over circumstances

Faith over emotions

Romans 4:13-16 (ESV)  For the promise to Abraham and his offspring that he would be heir of the world did not come through the law but through the righteousness of faith. 14 For if it is the adherents of the law who are to be the heirs, faith is null and the promise is void. 15 For the law brings wrath, but where there is no law there is no transgression. 16 That is why it depends on faith, in order that the promise may rest on grace and be guaranteed to all his offspring--not only to the adherent of the law but also to the one who shares the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all.

Genesis 12:1-3 Now the LORD said to Abram, "Go from your country and your kindred and your father's house to the land that I will show you. 2 And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed."

Stop trying to hold onto what makes sense…. Stop trying to look at things through the lens of our comfort….

As long as you keep God first… He will guide you…

What is the foundation in Christ?

Jesus Christ

Prayer

Reading God’s Word

Worship

Psalms 37:23-24 (ESV) The steps of a man are established by the LORD, when he delights in his way;  24 though he fall, he shall not be cast headlong, for the LORD upholds his hand.

Questions to ask yourself…

Do you seek Him in all that you do?

Do you invite Him into every decision that you make?

Do you make your schedule fit around Him… or do you make Him fit around your schedule?

Genesis 15:1-9 (ESV) After these things the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision: "Fear not, Abram, I am your shield; your reward shall be very great." 2 But Abram said, "O Lord GOD, what will you give me, for I continue childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?" 3 And Abram said, "Behold, you have given me no offspring, and a member of my household will be my heir." 4 And behold, the word of the LORD came to him: "This man shall not be your heir; your very own son shall be your heir." 5 And he brought him outside and said, "Look toward heaven, and number the stars, if you are able to number them." Then he said to him, "So shall your offspring be." 6 And he believed the LORD, and he counted it to him as righteousness. 7 And he said to him, "I am the LORD who brought you out from Ur of the Chaldeans to give you this land to possess." 8 But he said, "O Lord GOD, how am I to know that I shall possess it?" 9 He said to him, "Bring me a heifer three years old, a female goat three years old, a ram three years old, a turtledove, and a young pigeon."

Romans 4:17-22 (ESV) as it is written, "I have made you the father of many nations"--in the presence of the God in whom he believed, who gives life to the dead and calls into existence the things that do not exist. 18 In hope he believed against hope, that he should become the father of many nations, as he had been told, "So shall your offspring be." 19 He did not weaken in faith when he considered his own body, which was as good as dead (since he was about a hundred years old), or when he considered the barrenness of Sarah's womb. 20 No distrust made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, 21 fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised. 22 That is why his faith was "counted to him as righteousness."

The promise is not to fulfill your flesh on this earth…. The promise is that He is going to restore you back to Him in righteousness.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 (ESV) But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. 14 For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. 15 For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words.

Luke chapter 17…. As it was in the days of Noah… so it will be in the last days of our society….

We parallel to the days of Noah…

Widespread violence

Living in an evil society

Living in a society that refuses to repent

2 Corinthians 6: 1-2 (ESV) Working together with him, then, we appeal to you not to receive the grace of God in vain. 2 For he says, "In a favorable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you."Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.

This is how to get right with God

Jesus I ask for you to forgive me, I ask you to be the Lord of my life. Alter my path…Alter my home…Alter my direction. I confess with my mouth that you are Lord. I believe that You are the Son of God…that You died and rose again…come into my heart…wash me…cleanse me…and forgive me of all my unrighteousness…help me to reestablish the foundation in Christ in the promise
